Journal Entry: Musings With The Lord by Isio Okumagba

Everyday Lord, I’m learning that my experiences do not determine the authenticity of God’s nature and character.  I’m learning that my circumstances should not determine the quality of my life and my perception of God, rather the truth of your word and your unfailing promises should determine my reality and the hope in which I cling to.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time. – Psalm 34:19

Today and every day, I choose to encourage myself in the Lord like David did and meditate on the truth and essence of God’s love for me because our lives are shaped to the degree of our thoughts/minds. Hence if I decide to focus on the fact that life’s experiences and circumstances seem too enormous for me to handle, I give the experiences power over my mind and I will remain in defeat to the cares of the life.

I have come to the realisation that it is only the TRUTH of God’s word that can set me free from those mind battles.

Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. – John 8:32

For someone out there wondering if God has forgotten about you, God is too faithful to leave you. He does not lie and will never compromise his character/nature. God is a committed and responsible Father.

Be encouraged and trust in God’s heart towards you.

Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. – Psalm 34:5

God is near and he hears your every cry, needs, longing and every worry

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. –  Psalm 145:18

In the midst of the tough times trust in God’s heart and thoughts towards you.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.- Jeremiah 29:11

What matters most is not who’s against you, the important thing to remember is that the GREATER ONE lives inside of you.

But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. – 1 John 4:4

God is FIGHTING for you!
